Draperies

The main purpose of draperies is to control the degree of light absorption and heat insulation, although they are often used purely for decoration. Controlling how much light enters the room depends on the fabrics and linings you select.

Sheer fabrics allow the majority of light to enter the room, whereas thicker fabrics with blackout linings protect interior spaces from damaging UV and allow privacy. Linings can be applied for aesthetics, adding weight to the drapes to create a more luxurious window display.

Draperies can be operated either manually or electronically.
